Over 300 patients are treated on Phase 1 drug trials every year.<\/p><p>As the understanding of cancer has grown it has become clear that there is no single magic bullet for cancer.\u00a0 There are many different types and sub-types of cancer, all with individual characteristics, so the importance of targeted, even personalised, treatments is becoming more evident.\u00a0 As breakthroughs are made, so the need for greater funding grows to enable more research and more clinical trials.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section Among other things, our fellowships have successfully identified the DNA of mutating cancer tumours in patients&#8217; blood enabling cancer to be detected in simple blood tests, which has the potential to\u00a0revolutionize\u00a0the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer globally.<\/p><p>Le Cure is entirely volunteer run.
